hoops

Today is my first experience with wearing hoop earrings.
They are gold, big and have diamonds in them.
Before I divulge into the detail of the morning, you should be aware that I am uncomfortable wearing hoops. And I have to remind myself to walk confidently. My distressed feelings with hoops probably comes from somewhere, I'm just not sure where.
So today I wore the hoops.
8 AM I am going down in the elevator at my apartment building when it stops on floor 2. I nice guy gets in the elevator with his laundry basket in tow. He is friendly and starts talking right when he walks in, by time we get to floor 1, he has asked me to look over his English papers and help him with grammar... and I said yes.
No worries, I shock myself sometimes.

On my way back from school< I go up the elevator to get to the 4th floor where there is an attractive guy. Obviously his phone has just shattered inconveniently, but I happen to have my phone, so he borrows it. After he made his phone call, we do the customary introductions and then ended up talking out in the hallway for a while.

Good Karma people! Good karma! My life just doesn't work out that way usually. It's the hoop earrings. It really is. Which means, I will be wearing them again. However, this leads me to think there is discrimination against pearls. I know, that's a weird thought, but it's mine. If I were wearing pearls today, it wouldn't have panned out that way, and heads wouldn't have turned.
