Grandma Beth and Grandpa Jay

Suddenly, I just remembered summer in my grandparents back yard.

The smell of roses and all of their beautiful colors filling up the walk.

The radio with the ball game announcers.

Hollyhock dolls.

Water fights.

Cold cherry coke on my neck.

Whistling.

Chicken in a biscuit.

Popcorn and chips.

Duct tape and twine.

Rocky.

Pocket knife cut shorts.

Hanky dolls.

Swinging on the porch.

I loved that time. I looked forward to every sunday evening because it meant sitting with grandpa on the swing and grandma giving us yummy treats. I had a real good childhood and sometimes I miss it terribly. Happy Sunday!

love, Maddie Violet

I think about this all the time when I sit in grandpa's swing in the front yard. I miss him so much and when we were little too.

That seems like a whole other lifetime ago. Sometimes growing up kind of sucks!
