"Top Reasons Kids Are Super Annoying"; that's the headliner on the MSN homepage today. The headline is then followed by a caption that reads, "Video: Is it any surprise Americans are having fewer kids? Once you see these raging tantrums & giant messes, you might cut back on the baby making, too."
How sad it is to live in a world that has diminished the family unit. Lately as I have thought about the goals I have for my life, the ones that seem mean the most are being a wife and a mother. Motherhood is a divine role that I would like to fulfill someday. I'm grateful that being a member of the church has taught me not only about the role of motherhood, but the divine roles I have as a woman. I know that the family is eternal and that it is a sacred unit.
In Gordon B. Hickley's talk "The Women in Our Lives," he says, "There is no other arrangement that meets the divine purposes of the
Almighty. Man and woman are His creations. Their duality is His design.
Their complementary relationships and functions are fundamental to His
purposes. One is incomplete without the other."
Happy Friday! Cheers!
love, Maddie Violet

I read an article about the American birth rate. It's going down rapidly, which is one of the main causes we're in such a terrible economic state - not enough people being born to support the people that already were born.
It stated that China's birthrate is 1.56 or something like that (which is how many children are born per woman). It say that America's is 1.6. So, we have a 1-child rule as well, it just isn't a law.
Kind of disturbing, right? How are people so selfish? Do they not understand that THEY were kids once too?
It blows my mind. Great quote.
I had that song stuck in my head every day last week, ha ha.
