Literature makes me happy. It's a wonderful thing to read something that has helped to shape what America is today. I just think about how many writers have influenced what is thought about life, love, happiness, God, rights, etc...
As I sat in my Shakespeare class today I thought about all of my ancestors who lived in that time and place and it completely amazed me. I wonder if they went to the plays, if they were "groundlings." What a hard life that would be to have next to no freedom. *I can't write any more about this because I'll get on my feminist soap box.
There is magic in literature and reading and language. I absolutely love it! I am so happy that I want to be a high school English teacher. I owe that to Mr. Dalton, Ms. Skabelund, and Mrs. Gallagher. How lucky I was to have teachers who lit the fire for my love of literature and what it means to individuals. I hope to be able to light that same fire someday.
Cheers!
love, Maddie Violet
