I must tell you what happened at the library today! Firstly, I watched The Holiday today. What a lovely film. Kate Winslet is just the tops. Really. Also, now I want to move into Iris's cottage.
Driving in the snow and listening to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," it kind of makes me sentimental about things so you can imagine the feelings I had going to the library (and because it's a library).
When I arrived at the library, I was brimming with excitement at the sheer fact that for two weeks I can read for my own pleasure. I carefully made my way to the library entrance on account of not wanting to slip and die... or worse, break a limb. Upon entering, I knew exactly where I needed to go because of course, I already had a list written down of books I want to sink my attention into (my attention and emotional heartstrings, or something like that). So anyway, I made my way to the row that contained the books written by many people named "Smith" and found The Lost Girls. Reading the short description, I decided I might be interested and just when I was about to go find the book I was hoping to find in the section containing all of the "Watsons," there it was; right there on the neighboring shelf to the Smiths was Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.
Surely fate has had a hand in my reading choices. I don't know if Winifred Watson's novel will change my life, but I have reason to believe I am meant to read it. I mean, it was right there mixed with all of the "Smiths." How do you like that? A Watson mixed in with the Smiths.
Cheers!
love, Maddie Violet
