Like a squirrel, storing the nuts of life

Searching, always searching. That's what Millie Dillmount says anyway.

At Christmas time, it seems that every light becomes an exciting decoration to show festivity. Do you ever think so? I do. Those red and green stop lights, the brake lights on cars, street lamps... maybe it's because they reflect gorgeously off of the snow.

It seems that when I become interested in forming relationships with people, I picture what it must be like to be friends with that person, what a car ride would consist of; silence or talk; I wonder if they would laugh at my jokes or appreciate my love for holidays, America, the scent of lavender and my preference for the sound of vinyl rather than the remastered stuff.

What can I say? I'm 20 going on 80.

So, today I listened to Ella Fitzgerald because she sings it. She gets it. She knows. She's Ella.

Cheers! And remember,as Muzzy Van Hossmere so lovingly says, "Follow you heart, no raspberries!"

love, Maddie Violet
