memorial day

I decided to blog today. I just had to.

Memorial day was so much fun. I really think people need to respect the holiday and visit the cemetery. It really bothers me when people don't pay their respects. . . and on that note, I am grateful that I had the fun time of going with my family to visit and take Mums (the flower). It was nice to go and really think about what the day meant. The thought of "I love America!" kept coming to my mind.

This is a picture of my looker of a grandpa, Jay. He served in WWII and I wish I could have seen him in his prime. He was a good man. I have this memory from when my dad was building a huge closet for my parents room and he came over to help. My hair was in ringlets from my curlers the night before. I had just seen the music man and I hung my karaoke microphone up and started humming Goodnight My Someone. He knocked on my bedroom door and opened it. He said, "Is that you singing?" I told him it was and he said, "I love your voice and that curly hair. Don't stop singing now." I will always remember that, and this is the first time I've actually written it down.

We also put beautiful purple mums on my sister Shan. Here is a picture of her too. I'm sure we're going to be best friends when we meet again. And that will be lovely.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Cheers!

love, Maddie Violet
